Adopt-a-Tommy

CertificateWe need as much help as we can get to do justice to the Swindon people of the Great War and one simple way you can help is through donating to Swindon in the Great War. We need money for buying equipment, exhibition materials, printing, postage etc. To raise funds we have borrowed an idea from the Great War and created Adopt-a-Tommy, where, for a donation of £10, you will receive a beautiful certificate based on the one given to returning soldiers. You will soon be able to donate through this website, but the certificates are still available by downloading a form and posting it to us.

On the certificate you can add a dedication (perhaps to a relative who fought in the war) and a donor name (yours, or someone else's if you want to give the certifcate as a gift).

The text of the certificate is as follows:

In warm Appreciation of the Donation made Towards the Commemoration of Swindon in the Great War 1914-1918 through Generous Participation in the Adopt-a-Tommy Campaign for:

We have cause to be Proud of the part played by Swindon’s Gallant Sons & Daughters in the Struggle for Freedom, Honour and Justice, and Safeguarding our Shores and our Homes.
